HTR1F
5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1F
Pathway candidate — not linked to PFS or PSSD by any record here
Gene summary
A protein-coding gene on chromosome 3 (neurotransmission). Enables Gi/o-coupled serotonin receptor activity and serotonin binding activity. Involved in adenylate cyclase-inhibiting serotonin receptor signaling pathway.

Protein reference (UniProt)
- Protein
5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1F
- Function
G protein-coupled receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin). Also functions as a receptor for various alkaloids and psychoactive substances. Receptor for lasmiditan, a drug for the treatment of acute migraine. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins) and modulates the activity of downstream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. HTR1F is coupled to G(i)/G(o) G alpha proteins and mediates inhibitory neurotransmission by inhibiting adenylate cyclase activity.
- Subcellular location
Cell membrane.

Why its pathway is in the library
Monoamine, GABA, glutamate, and cholinergic systems are the direct pharmacologic targets of SSRIs/SNRIs (PSSD) and the downstream effectors of neurosteroid signaling (PFS).
Written for the whole neurotransmission family, not for HTR1F specifically.
Mentioned in 0 corpus records
No corpus record names HTR1F directly yet. It is in the library because it sits in a pathway the corpus tracks (Neurotransmission).
