NR1I3
nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 3
Pathway candidate — not linked to PFS or PSSD by any record here
Gene summary
A protein-coding gene on chromosome 1 (steroid and nuclear hormone receptors). Encodes a member of the nuclear receptor superfamily, and is a key regulator of xenobiotic and endobiotic metabolism. The protein binds to DNA as a monomer or a heterodimer with the retinoid X receptor and regulates the transcription of target genes involved in drug metabolism and bilirubin clearance, such as cytochrome P450 family members.

Protein reference (UniProt)
- Protein
Nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group I member 3
- Function
Binds and transactivates the retinoic acid response elements that control expression of the retinoic acid receptor beta 2 and alcohol dehydrogenase 3 genes. Transactivates both the phenobarbital responsive element module of the human CYP2B6 gene and the CYP3A4 xenobiotic response element.
- Subcellular location
Nucleus; Cytoplasm; Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton.
- Tissue specificity
Predominantly expressed in liver.

Why its pathway is in the library
Nuclear receptors transduce steroid signals into lasting gene-expression programs; persistent receptor-level remodeling (or silencing) is a leading hypothesis for symptoms that outlast drug exposure.
Written for the whole nuclear receptors family, not for NR1I3 specifically.
Mentioned in 0 corpus records
No corpus record names NR1I3 directly yet. It is in the library because it sits in a pathway the corpus tracks (Nuclear receptors).
